AI text adventure games Type anything. The world answers.

Classic text adventures understood a short list of verbs and a map written in advance. Here you can type GO NORTH or a whole paragraph: the storyteller answers with a full scene, remembers what you broke, and keeps the consequences coming.

DoI pry open the cellar door

In the storyYou pry open the cellar door

The storyteller

The crowbar bites, the hinges shriek, and the door gives all at once. Cold air climbs out of the dark, smelling of brine and lamp oil. Somewhere past the eleventh step, a bottle rolls across the stone and stops, as if it heard you.

The short answer

What is an AI text adventure?

An AI text adventure is a text game in which an AI narrates the world as you play. You type what you do, as a short command or a whole sentence, and a storyteller narrates what happens next, with no fixed vocabulary and no “I don’t understand that.” On LoreWeaver, memories and lore cards keep the doors, deals, and wounds you leave behind in play, and adventures built with the Loom can track what you carry. You can play any community adventure for 20 replies without an account.

The composer

Four ways to make a move.

The action type beside the composer decides how your words reach the story. Do turns “I” into “you,” Say turns your words into dialogue, and Custom sends exactly what you typed. Short commands still work: LOOK describes the room, and GO NORTH takes you north.

Creators can set up Loom threads that react to the mode you chose, so a whispered threat and a kicked-in door can land differently.

01

Inventory

Pockets that remember.

Adventures built with the Loom can hand you items with quantities and descriptions, keep them in an inventory on screen, and check that you carry the key before a door opens.

02

Events

Traps that wait for you.

Creators plant events with the Loom, so a cursed relic or a returning rival can trigger at exactly the right moment, even forty turns later.

03

Atmosphere

Hear the cave breathe.

Turn on narration and each reply is read aloud, or call a character and talk your way past them, with captions to follow.

Questions

Text adventures, answered.

01How is an AI text adventure different from Zork?

Zork and other parser games understand a fixed set of commands inside a map written in advance. An AI text adventure accepts any words, describes new places as you explore, and remembers your choices across long campaigns, while authors can still plant puzzles, items, and events.

02Do classic commands like LOOK and TAKE LAMP work?

Yes. Short commands are read as actions, so LOOK describes the scene around you, and full sentences work just as well because there is no vocabulary to learn.

03Is there a map or a list of exits?

Not a fixed one. Places are described as you reach them, so the exits are whatever the scene offers, and a creator can keep important locations on lore cards so they stay the same each time you return.

04Can I play AI text adventures for free?

Yes. Play 20 replies of any community adventure with a premium storyteller and no account, then keep going on the free plan with 25 premium replies a day and unlimited replies from the free storyteller.

05Will the game remember what I did?

Yes. Memories, a running summary, and lore cards carry your choices between sittings, and adventures that use the Loom also keep flags, counters, and an inventory, so a door you broke stays broken.

06Can I make my own text adventure?

Yes. Create a world, write its premise and opening, add lore cards for places and items, plan puzzles and events with the Loom, and publish it to the Hub for others to play.

07Can I bring an adventure over from AI Dungeon?

Yes. LoreWeaver imports AI Dungeon adventures with their history, memories, and story cards, along with NovelAI scenarios and SillyTavern World Info, so an adventure you began elsewhere can carry on here.
