A WyvernChat alternative for stories that run long.

WyvernChat is built for people who like to tinker. Its lorebooks fire on keys you tune by hand, and its world editor runs Lua scripts. If you’d rather the story kept its own records while you play, this is how LoreWeaver compares, with every WyvernChat detail linked to its wiki.

The short answer

What is the best WyvernChat alternative?

LoreWeaver is a WyvernChat alternative for long roleplay where the record keeping happens while you play. Every 4 replies the storyteller saves memories that name who was there and where, and brings them back whenever a scene calls for them. Lorekeeper writes lore cards for the people and places the story keeps naming, and a card joins a reply when the story names it, with no keys or budgets to set. 42 models come with the plans under their own names, Claude Haiku 5.5 and GPT-6 Luna from Plus, and Tavern cards import with their lorebooks.

Memory

Old scenes come back when they matter.

WyvernChat keeps as much of a chat as fits the model’s context window. Once a chat outgrows it, the oldest messages drop out, and summaries you switch on and tune condense what came before. LoreWeaver saves memories every 4 replies, each with the names it will be found by, and recalls the ones that fit the scene beside a recap you can edit. 30 memories per story on Free, 300 on Plus, 1,200 on Pro, and every one on Ultra and Legendary.

Maelis warned that the dragons fly low only when Queen Ysolde calls them, and that the Queen means to collect on your promise tonight.

Lore

Lore cards with no keys to tune.

WyvernChat’s lorebooks fire on keys you type for each entry, with settings for how many past messages to scan, how many tokens entries may use, and how primary and secondary keys combine.

On LoreWeaver a lore card joins a reply when its title or one of its tags appears in the last 12 messages, ranked by how closely it matches and how important you marked it. Lorekeeper writes new cards when the story keeps naming someone, and the LoreMap links cards that share tags or turn up together in the story.

Questions

Switching from WyvernChat.

01Is LoreWeaver free like WyvernChat?

Yes, to start. The free plan has a fast free storyteller (about 5 to 7 seconds for a typical reply) with no daily limit, plus 25 premium replies a day. Paid plans are Plus $7.99, Pro $14.99, Ultra $24.99, and Legendary $49.99 a month, and no model needs an outside account.

02Can I bring my WyvernChat characters to LoreWeaver?

Yes. Export a character from WyvernChat as a Tavern V2 card and import the file. Its greetings become openings and its lorebook becomes lore cards. Lorebooks exported for SillyTavern import on their own from a world’s Lore tab.

03How is LoreWeaver’s memory different from WyvernChat’s summaries?

WyvernChat keeps what fits in the model’s context window and condenses older messages into summaries you configure. LoreWeaver also keeps a recap, and on top of it saves separate memories every 4 replies, each naming who was there and where. When a scene brings back a person or a promise, the memories about it return to the reply.

04Do I need an API key or a Featherless subscription for better models?

No. Every one of the 42 models comes with a LoreWeaver plan. Claude Haiku 5.5 and GPT-6 Luna open on Plus at $7.99 a month, and the free storyteller works on every plan.

05Does LoreWeaver have lorebooks?

It has lore cards, which do the same job. A card joins a reply when its title or a tag appears in the last 12 messages, or on every reply when you pin it. Lorekeeper suggests new cards from the story, and the LoreMap shows how they connect.

06Can I play with friends in the same story?

Not yet. Each LoreWeaver story has one player. You can publish a world to the Hub so friends play their own run of it, and WyvernChat’s group chats remain the better fit for shared scenes.

07Can I use LoreWeaver on my phone?

Yes. LoreWeaver has a free Android app on Google Play, with an iPhone app coming soon, and it works in any phone browser too. Your characters, lore cards, and memories stay in your account on every device.

08Is LoreWeaver uncensored?

Adults can write dark and mature stories between adult characters. Accounts are 18+, a short list of hard limits in the community guidelines applies to everyone, and stories stay private unless you publish a world.
