01Which apps can I import characters from?
Any app that exports Tavern character cards as PNG, JSON, or CHARX files, SillyTavern and Chub included. LoreWeaver also reads SillyTavern World Info, NovelAI lorebooks and story files, AI Dungeon adventures and story cards, and FictionLab chat exports.
02What can’t come with me?
Character.AI, Janitor AI, and Chai have no character export, so those characters are rebuilt by hand from what their pages show. Chat logs from SillyTavern and Chub don’t import, and a NovelAI story file brings its premise, lorebook, and settings without the full story text.
03Is switching free?
Yes. Importing is free on every plan, any community world can be played for 20 replies before you sign up, and the free plan includes unlimited replies from the free storyteller plus 25 premium replies a day.
04Do I need an API key?
No. Storytellers are built into every plan, so there are no keys, proxies, or second bills to manage, unlike SillyTavern or a bring-your-own-key setup on Chub or Janitor AI.
05How are these comparisons kept fair?

06Is LoreWeaver only for adults?
Yes. Accounts are for people 18 and older, mature themes between adults are allowed within hard limits, and stories stay private unless you publish them.
