Review · Adult roleplay
A SpicyChat alternative for mature stories with a long memory.
SpicyChat built a busy home for adult character chat, with lorebooks, group chats, and memory tools on its paid tiers. If your bots keep losing the thread, or the September price rise stung, here is how LoreWeaver compares: memories written on every plan, Tavern cards that import whole, and mature stories kept private between adults.
LoreWeaver publishes this review. Both sites are for adults only, and SpicyChat’s details come from its own documentation, linked under Sources.
The short answer
What is a good SpicyChat alternative with better memory?
LoreWeaver is a SpicyChat alternative for adults whose stories run long. The storyteller saves memories every few replies on every plan, the free one included, keeps a running recap, and recalls lore cards by name, while SpicyChat writes memories for you only from its $19.95 True Supporter tier. Tavern cards import as PNG, JSON, or CHARX with their lorebooks, and mature themes between adults are allowed within hard limits.
Updated
Memory, on every plan
Written while you play.
Every few replies the storyteller sets down what mattered, with the names it will search for later. On SpicyChat that waits for the $19.95 tier; here it starts on the free plan, and every memory stays yours to edit.

The upper gallery · Past midnight
Iris
“You kept the mask on all evening. Take it off, and I’ll tell you who really sent the roses.”
Just written
Iris admitted the roses came from the duke’s steward, not the duke, and asked you to keep her secret from the house.
Iristhe rosesthe duke’s steward
Earlier in this story
- You lost to Iris at the card table on purpose, and she noticed.
- Iris keeps the only key to the upper gallery.
Written every few replies on every plan: 30 per story on Free, 300 on Plus, 1,200 on Pro, and unlimited on Ultra and Legendary. Read, edit, or delete any memory.
Price
Memory and context, rung by rung.
SpicyChat raised prices for new subscribers on September 8, 2026, and its automatic memory begins on the $19.95 tier. LoreWeaver saves memories from the free plan up, and each paid plan keeps more of the story in view.
Both ladders show monthly prices in US dollars, as each site lists them.

Where each one wins
Who should stay, and who should go.
Where LoreWeaver is stronger
- Memories are written for you from the free plan up, not from the $19.95 tier.
- More context for less: Plus keeps 16,000 tokens for $7.99, and True Supporter keeps 8,192 for $19.95.
- Lore cards look back 12 messages for their names, so a place mentioned a few turns ago still counts.
- Characters live in worlds, with places, factions, a LoreMap, and Loom events you plan.
- Swipe, branch, or rewind any reply, and memories follow the version you keep.
Where SpicyChat is stronger
- A library of community bots made for adult chat, ready to start.
- Group chats where several bots share a scene and you pick who speaks.
- An Android app, downloaded from its own site.
- A cheaper first tier: Get A Taste costs $5.95, under Plus at $7.99.
- A Memory Manager for writing and pinning memories yourself.
Moving your bots
Bring a bot with you.
- 01
Find the card
Start from the original.
If the bot began as a Tavern card elsewhere, download that PNG or JSON again. The card holds everything its creator wrote, including any lorebook and extra greetings.
- 02
Or copy it
Copy a bot you wrote.
For bots you made on SpicyChat, copy the name, personality, and greeting from the bot’s editor.
- 03
Import
Bring it in.
Drop the card on the import page, or press + Character in My Stuff and paste in what you copied. Either way it becomes a character world.
- 04
Play
Pick a greeting.
Start from any greeting the card carried. The first memory forms within a few replies, and the recap builds from there.
Questions
Questions from SpicyChat players.
01Does LoreWeaver allow NSFW roleplay?
For adults, yes. Accounts are 18+, and mature themes, explicit scenes between adult characters included, are allowed in your stories. A short list of hard limits applies everywhere, starting with anything involving minors. Stories stay private unless you publish a world, and Mature worlds in the Hub stay hidden until a reader opts in.
02Can I bring my SpicyChat bots?
Yes, as cards or by hand. A bot that started as a Tavern card imports whole as PNG, JSON, or CHARX, lorebook included. For a bot you wrote on SpicyChat, copy its name, personality, and greeting into a new character; it takes a minute.
03Will characters remember things on the free plan?
Yes. Memories are written every few replies on every plan: 30 per story on Free, 300 on Plus, 1,200 on Pro, and unlimited on Ultra and Legendary. A running recap and lore cards recalled by name carry the rest of the story.
04Is LoreWeaver cheaper than SpicyChat?
It depends on what you need. SpicyChat’s first tier is cheaper ($5.95, against Plus at $7.99), but its automatic memory starts at $19.95, while LoreWeaver saves memories on every plan. For context, Plus keeps 16,000 tokens and Pro keeps 32,000 for $14.99, against 8,192 on True Supporter and up to 32,768 on I’m All In at $29.95.
05Is there an app?
LoreWeaver runs in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, tablet, or desktop, with nothing to install, and your stories are saved to your account on every device.
06Are my chats private?
Yes. Stories stay in your account unless you publish a world to the Hub, and LoreWeaver does not use your private content to train AI models.
