Use cases
AI storytelling use cases, four ways to work with one storyteller.
Worldbuilders, solo tabletop players, writers, and interactive fiction creators each use LoreWeaver differently. Underneath, the same lore cards, memory, and Loom keep every kind of story whole. Pick yours to see the workflow, step by step.
The short answer
What can you use LoreWeaver for?
Mostly four things: building fictional worlds, running solo tabletop campaigns with an AI game master, playing out long fiction, and making interactive fiction for others to play. All four share one core: lore cards the storyteller recalls on cue, memories and recaps that carry across sessions, and the Loom, with 43 templates for meters, quests, and dice. The free plan includes 25 premium replies a day.

Under the hood
Which tools matter for which work.
| Tool | Worldbuilding | Solo tabletop RPG | Creative writing | Interactive fiction |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lore cards | Your canon, recalled on cue | NPCs, house rules, and your stats | A card per character keeps voices distinct | The people and places players meet |
| Memory and recaps | What happened in play, kept for next time | Continuity from session to session | Chapter forty still knows chapter four | Each player’s choices stay in play |
| The Loom | World events and lore swaps | Dice checks, quests, and inventory | Pacing beats and cliffhangers | Planned twists and tappable choices |
| Branches | Alternate histories side by side | Replay a fight you lost | Try both endings | Playtest every path |
| LoreMaps | See how the canon connects | Track factions and alliances | Map the cast’s relationships | Check the web before you publish |
| Sharing | Publish the world to the Hub | Share a campaign setting | Stories stay private; export as Markdown | Publish with hidden threads |
FAQ
Use cases, answered.
01Do I need a different plan for each use case?
No. Every plan includes the same core tools: lore cards, LoreMaps, memories, and unlimited Loom threads. Paid plans add more premium replies, more context, more memories per story, and extras such as voice cloning from Pro up.
02Can I use LoreWeaver to write a novel?
Yes. Play it out scene by scene with style rules, character cards, and branches, then export each session as Markdown to revise wherever you like.
03Can I play D&D alone with it?
Yes, in that style. The storyteller acts as game master, Loom threads roll dice against a DC, and memory carries the campaign between sessions.
04Is it only for fantasy?
No. Worlds can be any genre, from cozy slice of life to hard science fiction, and the Hub sorts community worlds into 13 genres.
05Can I share what I make?
Yes. Publish a world to the Hub so others can play their own copy, or export it as JSON to share the file directly. On the free plan, a first published world also earns 3 days of Plus.
06Is my work private?
Yes. Worlds and stories stay private unless you publish them, and a published world never includes your sessions, messages, or memories.
