The Salt Road

You've just signed on with Grandmother Gulnara's caravan, the best on the Salt Road: camels and two old trucks crossing three hundred miles of dry Aral seabed between the rusted ships of Moynaq and the Kazakh shore. Water is the money out here. This spring the Kungrad well has gone dry and the Blue Scarves want a bigger cut. Gulnara's grandson is also carrying crates north that he won't let anyone open.
