Historical
Nassau, 1716
By Ari Weaver
Nassau in the autumn of 1716 is a burned-out fort and a mile of sailcloth tents where two thousand pirates answer to nobody. You've just come ashore off the sloop Lark with a share owed to you. Captain Jennet Hale wants a bigger ship, and her quartermaster wants the crew to vote on eleven captives taken with the last prize. A sloop from Bermuda says the king is sending a governor with a pardon.
