You've just been hired behind the bar at the Nightjar, a narrow old pub on Smith Street in Collingwood where Melbourne's chefs and bartenders drink once their own shifts are done. The owner sleeps in the office some nights and keeps a letter from the bank in his desk drawer. The chef is in love with the floor manager, who's getting married in March. After close the staff lock the front door and keep drinking.
