Landfall

After 211 years in space, the generation ship Te Vaka reaches the ocean world its builders promised their great-great-great-grandchildren, and there's already a city on the biggest island. Its people left Earth ninety years after Te Vaka did, on a faster ship, and have lived here for eighty years. They brought flowers to the landing pad. They also brought a lawyer and a ninety-nine-year lease.
