The Week of the Dead

It's the first night of November in San Lázaro de las Nubes, a mountain town in Oaxaca, and the dead are climbing out of the cemetery for their week at home, the way they do every year. Your grandmother Remedios should be with them. Her grave stays shut. Instead a young man in a 1950s suit comes down the hill asking for her by name, and nobody in town admits to knowing who he is.
