The Black Ooze Frontier

The year is 1887, but not as history records. Steam-powered airships drift over dusty plains, and brass-and-copper automatons stand guard in frontier towns. Yet a new nightmare has clawed its way into the world: a black, viscous ooze that seeps from the earth, infecting animals and people alike, twisting them into monstrous, shambling horrors. The ooze corrupts machinery, turning locomotives into rampaging behemoths and elevating simple coyotes to hulking, feral predators. Miners, cowboys, and inventors struggle to survive as settlements fall and the frontier shrinks. At the heart of the chaos lies the mysterious origin of the ooze—some say it's a curse from a forgotten tribe, others a failed experiment from a mad tinkerer. Players are drifters, bounty hunters, or engineers caught in the conflict, forced to forge alliances, scavenge for rare steam-tech weapons, and uncover the truth before the black tide consumes everything.
