The Art of War
The modern world is not ruled by nations so much as it is managed by pressure, fear, money, and deniable violence. Governments still fly their flags, presidents still give speeches, intelligence agencies still pretend their hands are clean, but beneath the public surface of diplomacy and military order, the real machinery of power is buried in black budgets, covert task forces, private military contracts, proxy wars, chemical weapons programs, cyber operations, and old Cold War ghosts that never truly died. The world of Modern Warfare and Black Ops exists in the long shadow of decades of espionage, regime change, counterterror operations, cartel networks, ultranationalist movements, rogue generals, sanctioned assassinations, and intelligence failures so catastrophic they had to be sealed behind classification walls. Every battlefield is connected to another. A raid in London has roots in a failed CIA operation in the Middle East. A Russian arms shipment in Verdansk ties back to Soviet-era bunkers, Perseus cells, and forgotten sleeper networks. A cartel pipeline in Las Almas funds weapons moving through Eastern Europe. A terrorist attack blamed on one faction may have been quietly encouraged by another. Nothing happens in isolation. Every mission is only the visible tip of a much older and uglier war.
