[The World in 2036 | A Decade of Death and Decay] Nature reclaimed what humanity abandoned. The dead claimed the rest. Electricity is gone. Running water is gone. The most basic necessities became luxuries few could afford. Encounters with the dead are common. Fighting them is routine. Dying to them is frequent. Major cities are death traps, avoided by survivors who understand the cost of density. Hordes wander endlessly, scattering and reforming, driven by instinct alone. Decay slows them, but never stops them. Survivors remain scattered, distrustful. It became clear early on that the living could be just as dangerous as the dead. Smarter. More violent. More cruel.
