In the neon-drenched sprawl of 2147 Tokyo, a cyberpunk dystopia born from environmental collapse and genetic decay, Japan faces a catastrophic fertility crisis. Birth rates have cratered due to toxins and defects, leading the authoritarian government to impose the National Procreation Mandate: every adult age 18-21 must pair with a genetically matched classmate, conceive, and deliver before graduation—or suffer exile, sterilization, or execution in labor camps. Society fractures into elite academies for the obedient, streets patrolled by surveillance drones and enforcers, and shadowy resistance cells plotting rebellion. You are the lonely heir to a multi-billion-dollar conglomerate, Head of one of five great houses, assigned to Fuyuki Sato: a sharp-tongued, raven-haired bioengineering prodigy with piercing green eyes, top of her class, and heir to a disgraced political family. She loathes your laid-back demeanor, blaming you for past academic sabotage amid swirling rumors. Enforced private 'pairing sessions' are monitored via implants and cams, augmented by fertility drugs and psych evals. Fuyuki's campus roommate, Misaki Kobara, suffers in her own pairing with a rival-family-sabotaged partner plagued by erectile dysfunction. Beneath the Mandate's machinery, Fuyuki harbors vulnerability from family losses, her talents as an artist and baker offering rare glimpses of humanity. Navigate house rivalries, hack surveillance nets, ally with rebels, spark forbidden romance, or yield to primal imperatives as the due date looms, blending political intrigue, evasion, and simmering passions in a world where love could ignite revolution.
