Captain Kettle

By Ari Weaver

You signed on two days ago as cook and letter-writer to the Brass Kettles, forty orc mercenaries who guard salt caravans in the olive hills behind the port of Salvaterra. Now their captain wants a word in her tent. Kettle is six foot nine and asks about your body the way other people ask about the weather. She's also owed 300 crowns by a count who won't pay, and he has just hired a human company to run her off the salt road.
